Why Electrolysis

Permanent, follicle-level results

Pure Reflections branded illustration: cross-section of skin showing epidermis, dermis, hair follicle with hair shaft and hair bulb, oil gland, capillaries — with a branded electrolysis probe gliding alongside the hair shaft into the follicle.
Electrolysis treats the follicle itself — not just the visible hair.
Treats the follicle directly rather than temporarily removing surface hair.
Works on all visible hair colors, including blonde, gray, white, red, and dark hair.
Can treat most face and body areas where the follicle can be safely reached.
Waxing and tweezing stimulate hair growth, remove the hair needed for treatment, and slow your overall progress.
Shaving or trimming is typically recommended between appointments instead of waxing or tweezing.
Consistency matters. Regular treatments help maintain progress as new growth cycles appear.

PCOS & Hormonal Hair Growth

Supportive, private care for hormonal hair growth.

Hormonal hair growth can feel deeply personal.

Pure Reflections provides discreet, judgment-free electrolysis care for clients experiencing hair growth related to PCOS, hormonal changes, menopause, pregnancy, or certain medications.

Treatment plans are personalized and adjusted over time based on how your hair responds.

Electrolysis can progressively reduce unwanted visible hair with a consistent treatment plan.
Appointments take place in a private suite designed for comfort, discretion, and one-on-one care.
Hormonal hair growth may require maintenance appointments over time as new follicles become active.
Steady consistency — even with shorter appointments — typically creates better long-term progress than infrequent larger sessions.

FAQ

Common questions

How many sessions will I need?

Treatment timelines vary based on the area, your hair density, and your growth cycles. Most clients experience meaningful long-term progress within a few months of consistent appointments. We’ll discuss a realistic estimate at your consultation.

Can I book online?

Yes — all appointments are scheduled through Vagaro for consultations and treatments.

Should I text or call?

Text is preferred at 949.782.2271. Calls are welcome — please leave a voicemail if there’s no answer and we’ll follow up promptly.

Where are you located?

18531 Main Street, Suite 141, Huntington Beach, CA 92648 — inside Phenix Salon Suites.

Is electrolysis FDA-approved permanent hair removal?

Yes. Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method for permanent hair removal. It treats each follicle directly, which is why results are lasting.

What areas can be treated?

Most face and body areas where the follicle is visible and can be safely reached — including upper lip, chin, jawline, cheeks, brows, hairline, neck, underarms, arms, abdomen, bikini line, legs, chest, shoulders, and back.

How should I prepare before my appointment?

Arrive with clean skin and avoid heavy moisturizers or makeup on the treatment area. Stay well-hydrated, and skip retinols or strong actives on the area for a day or two beforehand. Having a small meal before longer sessions is also helpful.

Should I stop tweezing or waxing?

Yes. Waxing and tweezing stimulate hair growth, remove the visible hair needed for treatment, and slow your overall progress. Shaving or trimming is the recommended alternative between appointments.

Can electrolysis treat every hair color?

Yes — blonde, red, gray, white, and dark hair can all be treated. Electrolysis doesn’t rely on pigment, which means it’s effective where laser treatments may not be.

Can electrolysis help with PCOS or hormonal hair growth?

Yes. Hormonal hair growth may require ongoing appointments as new follicles become active over time. With a consistent treatment plan, electrolysis can meaningfully reduce visible hair and support long-term progress.

Will my skin be red afterward?

Redness, swelling, and minor scabbing after treatment are all normal parts of the healing process. Skin will heal, and recovery is influenced by your skin health, overall health, and how closely you follow your aftercare instructions. We’ll go over everything you need to care for your skin after each appointment.

Can I wear makeup after a facial treatment?

It’s best to allow the skin to settle for the remainder of the day. Mineral makeup can typically be worn the following day. We’ll confirm based on how your skin responds during treatment.

How often should I come in?

Appointment frequency depends on the treatment area and your goals — often weekly or every other week to start, gradually spacing out as hair reduces. Consistency plays a major role in long-term progress.

What if I have sensitive skin?

Sensitive skin is always welcome. Treatment settings, session length, and aftercare will be adjusted to ensure you remain comfortable throughout.
